On the next Modern Notebook: Tyler Kline shares an orchestral work by Veroníque Vaka titled Lendh, which is inspired by the Icelandic town of Krýsuvík and its nearby geothermal areas. Also, music by Akemi Naito and Jakub Ciupinski, and Anne Leilehua Lanzilotti performs music for viola and electronics by Anna Thorvaldsdottir inspired “by the desire of calm and focus in chaos.”
Featuring pieces by Dorothy Hindman, Eleanor Alberga, Angélica Negrón, and Andrew Norman; plus performances by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, Lysander Piano Trio, Ensemble Arcadiana, pianist Nicholas Phillips, and others.
That’s coming up on this week’s Modern Notebook, Sunday night from 8 to 10 EST on Classical WSMR 89.1 and 103.9. Streaming at wsmr.org and on the WUSF Public Media mobile app.
