On the next Modern Notebook, tune in for a work by George Lewis titled “Merce and Baby” which features quite a bit of jazz-inspired percussion. Also, chamber works by Tania Leon and Evan Williams.
And Tyshawn Sorey’s “Autoschediasms,” a work that incorporates elements of improvisation, and in a way, acts as a duet between the conductor and the ensemble.
Plus: works by Darian Donovan Thomas, Errollyn Wallen, Hilary Tann, Nathan Davis, and others; and performances by cellist Seth Parker Woods, Alarm Will Sound, Ensemble Dal Niente, Levels, pianist Eunmi Ko with percussionist Michael Skillern, and more.
Join Tyler Kline for the next Modern Notebook: Sunday night from 8 to 10 on Classical WSMR 89.1 and 103.9.
