On this week’s Modern Notebook: Tyler Kline will share a round up of recent releases, with music by Eleanor Alberga for horn and chamber ensemble; a work for guitar quartet and choir by Reena Esmail featuring the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet; and a piece for alto saxophone and piano by Annika Sokolofsky titled Rise, in which the piano strings are bowed.
Plus: works by Kitty Xiao, Philip Herbert, Cecilia Arditto, Dai Fujikura, and others; and performances by saxophonist Jonathan Hulting-Cohen with pianist Nicholas Shaneyfelt, Nimbus Trio, Third Angle New Music, English horn soloist Jacqueline Leclair, and more.
