On this week’s Modern Notebook, Tyler Kline shares a trio for flute, violin and piano by Kitty Xiao that is inspired by the work of Australian photographer Jane Brown. Also, music by Toshio Hosokawa and Isaac Schankler; plus, The Green Fuse by James B. Wilson, a work that is titled after a fragment of a Dylan Thomas poem.
Featuring works by Anna Clyne, Christopher Cerrone, Lei Liang, Lisa Bielawa, Sarah Kirkland Snider, and others; and performances by flutist Tim Munro, Chineke! Orchestra, the Nimbus Trio, flutist Sarah Carrier, pipa soloist Gao Hong, and more.
